There are currently 30 different resorts at Walt Disney World (WDW) making choosing where to stay quite a difficult decision. Each resort is magically themed and falls into one of four of the resort categories at Walt Disney World:

To help you choose your resort here’s some more information about each resort category at WDW.
Value resorts are the least expensive of the resort categories and are perfect for families and adults on a budget yet wanting to enjoy the magic of staying at a highly themed Disney resort. The resorts will have a number of pools spread out across the property. Each resort offers some cool pools, as well as an expansive self-service food court. There is usually a bar either at the main pool or near the food court. Other amenities include jogging trails, free wifi, free bus transportation to the theme parks, gift shop, laundry and more! With the exception of the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, the rooms comprise of 2 double beds or 1 king bed and are approx 260 sq ft.

For a little more space the Moderate Resort Category rooms run from 300-314 sq ft. The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness are 504 sq ft. Again these resorts are very family friendly, well it is Disney after all! Unlike just the one bus stop at the Value Resorts, there are more bus stops spread about the Moderate resorts so you never have to walk too far to wait for free transportation to the parks. Each moderate resort also offers a quick service restaurant or food court in addition to a table service restaurant. The main pools at the moderate priced hotels are more elaborately themed, so these resorts are a big hit with kids.

Disney’s deluxe resorts are for those who are happy to splurge on their vacation and is not only offering the best pool choices for children but these resorts are perfect for adult-only trips. The Deluxe resorts are typically located nearer to one or two of the theme parks, some within walking distance. There are at least two table service restaurants, one of which will be a “Signature” restaurant offering a more upscale dining experience plus a quick service offering too. If you have had a hard day in the parks then room service is just a call away.

The Resort Categories at Walt Disney World each offer a different level of holiday but they all provide guests that Magical experience with so many Disney touches that make staying on-site as memorable as visiting the theme parks.
